New Years Resolutions

<- This is pretty much how I've been feeling during our mini off season! (Maybe too much partying not enough roller skating?)

We are back to practices next week and we are going to be very busy in 2011. Our game has been moved to January 22nd in order to have it at the Kingsway Hangar! This is a double header (we'll be playing current champs, the Slice Girls)

We are also hosting an "open roster" gave for our travel team (February 5th at the hangar), we've invited all the leagues in the area to send us a few of their best girls to comprise a team to play the E-Ville Dead in preparation for our game vs. Terminal City Rollergirls (Vancouver) in mid February.

No Berzekhers game in February (Slice Girls vs Los Pistolitas on February 12th though!) but we'll be back in March to play the Black Gold Diggers!

ALSO: If your NY resolutions include anything along the line of learning to roller skate, meetings tons of great girls, getting fit, finding your alter ego or doing something you find scary email Thrashinista (info@e-villederby.com) to snag one of the last spots for our fresh meat program starting January 13th and running for 8 weeks.

Junior Derby, Senior Derby, want to play derby?

Congrats to the Slice Girls who beat the Black Gold Diggers on the weekend! The next E-Ville game will be on January 15th and will feature all 4 teams!

This is an extra special game because not only our all 4 teams playing but it is also MY BIRTHDAY, BITCCHHHES!

This game will be back at the wonderful Kingsway Hangar and we're working on a killer after party so mark your calendars.

I would also like to congratulate all of our junior girls who played their first game of the season before the senior game on Saturday. Their game was sooo close, tied for a large portion of the game before WickEd beat the Orange Crushers by a few points. They were so much fun to ref and I cna already tell who's going to be taking my travel team spot in a few years time!

Derby this Saturday

Okay, so the Berzerkhers may not be playing til January, but if you need a fix of derby you should still come out this Saturday as the Black GoldDiggers face the Slice Girls in what is sure to be a smash-tastic event!!!

Some of your favorite Berzerkhers will be at Saturdays game so be sure to say hi.

Im not sure what a viking wears to a beach party, but a fur bikini seems appropriate, no?

So I know its still 6 months away, but Im a little bit berzerk for the upcoming THOR movie. I predict a monumentally berzerk screening party for this flick as Im sure all my sister Berzerkhers will be out in full viking force when this movie comes out. So until then, click below for a sneak peak.

News! News!

The league draft was last night, and we are proud to announce our newest viking is Prima Hellerina! We are super excited to be skating with her, SATURDAY NOVEMBER 13TH, AT THE SPORTSDOME VS LOS PISTOLITAS!. We have sold out the past two games so I highly recommend hitting up the usual vendors (Happy Harbour, Brown Paper Tickets, your favourite roller derby girl..) prior to the bout.

Inspiration

So Im still trying to figure out my Hallowe'en costume and I have little time to get my shit together... I have gone through a few ideas, and I think I may just go totally Berzerk and rock the viking look this year. I thought I would share some of the on-line inspiration for some bad ass viking women as I try to complete my costume.

RISE OF THE DEAD

On Saturday October 23, Regina's Pile o Bones will be in town to face the E-Ville Dead.

The best of the best make up the E-Ville travel team and it just so happens that a couple of your favorite Berzerkhers will be out there smashing with the Green & Black next Saturday night. So come on out and cheer on TRON, CHASEY MAIM, GHETTO ROSE, BADGIRLFRIEND HOOCHIE, LADY SADISTA and all the ladies of E-Ville!!

First Game!!

Here's some fabulous pic from the season opener from this past weekend. And altho the Berzerkhers didn't win, we were clearly the most awesome team.

Pretty good start to the season!

The picture Ghetto posted below was taken shortly after we beat the Black Gold Diggers in an exhibition game on Thursday. We were pretty excited to get a win under our belts before the season officially began. On Saturday we lost to the last years champs, the Slice Girls in a nail bitting 30 minute bout. We remain confident that had we a second half, we could have gotten them! (Rematch, for all the marbles, will be December 4th) Right after we played the Los Pistolitas and the Black Gold Diggers squared off in another exciting match. They went into the last jam with the LP's down by a single point and in the end the LP's took it by a very narrow margin of 3 points. If you weren't there on Saturday you missed two well-played mini games, and you should feel pretty bummed about it because I doubt you did something for exciting in Edmonton that night.
We don't play until December but you will have an opportunity to see some of us play with the E-Ville Dead against Regina's Pile of Bone Derby Club on October 23rd.

New Team! New Look!

So I was rockin' the Chola look for 2 seasons playing with the 2nd greatest houseteam in E-Ville, the Los Pistolitas. Dark hair and even darker pencil thin eyebrows. Fake prison tats and bright red lipstick. Bandanas and gang signs, totally workin it street style. I loved my Pistolitas and I will always be a little bit Chola


But its time for a new era for Ghetto....

I am now a proud Berzerkher and I need to come up with a new look is equal parts viking and ghetto fabulous. I have less than a week to perfect the look, and so this is just a work in progress but its starting to come together. I suspect I will be going through a LOT of silver eyeshadow this season.


Lets see if blondes do have more fun...kicking your ass.

NEW UNIFORM DAY!!!

YIPEEE!!! We got our new team uniforms and Im feeling totally BERZERK!!!! These uniforms rock it so hard that I can hardly stand it! We will all be wearing the same jerserys which are the most incredible shade of blue trimmed in grey/silver. I opted for the booty shorts and the skirt for my bottoms and right now I cannot possibly decide betweeen them for game day. Its like Sophies Choice; I just love them both so much! Maybe I will wear the skirt for the first half of the game and the booty shorts in the second..... aaaahhhh Im so excited !!!!

So here is just a sneak peak of the new Berzerkher jersey. Or rather MY new Berzerkher jersey. If you wanna see the whole thing, well, then get your ass to our game on September 25 for the Season kickoff. Big unveiling as all the Berzerkhers will shine in the brand new uniforms. Now I just need to get fur boot covers for my skates, oh and a viking helmet, maybe dye my hair blonde..... I ♥ Berzerkers

After a long summer off, the E-Ville girls are back on their skates starting with a refresher bootcamp this Saturday! We are looking forward to skating together as a team for the first time. Between you and me *leans in close*  we have a lot of solid players and if the chemistry is right I think (am certain) we will dominate this year! With not a weak spot in our roster, and tons of experience between the 10 of us we are starting the season in a really strong position. If you need to see it to believe it, make sure you grab tickets to our season opener on September 25th! Also check our Facebook page or  website for info regarding season passes. They are good for 9 games (including E-Ville Dead games) and come with a few drink tickets and a merch coupon (so you can get a Berzerkher's t-shirt on the cheap).

Showcase Showdown September 25th

Look what I found! It's the poster for our season opener. This will be a double header, and many of you will be excited to hear it's at our original venue, the Kingsway Hangar! This means better seating (no airlock doors impossible to get bleachers through), better atmosphere and a more central location. Personally I am very excited to be back at the location I played my very first bout in. Downside, the hangar has a smaller capacity than the Sportsdome so be sure to get your tickets in advance. I am predicting a sell-out for sure. As usual you can pick up tickets through your local Happy Harbour store, NABI in St Albert, your favorite E-Ville girl, and now at Sportsworld and Tix On The Square. Buying in advance will also save you 5 bucks off of the door price. 10 bucks for two awesome games featuring all of our home teams.
